I Felt Strongly…

Tesla Roadster Engineering Prototype at Yahoo!.Image via Wikipedia

  • What was your first car? First that I remember riding in? My mother’s 1970 Plymouth Duster. First I drove? A turquoise MG-B, not sure of the year.
  • Any significant memories w/that car? It died in the middle of the drawbridge over the Navesink river in New Jersey, once.
  • What’s parked in your driveway now? Nothing. But there’s a Subaru Forester in the garage.
  • Does your car reflect your personality? Kind of. We bought it because I felt strongly about buying something from a company that actively markets to women and people in “alternative lifestyles.”
  • Favorite vehicle(s)? I have fond memories of my grandfather’s ancient Dodge, I never drove it, but I spent a lot of time in it - it always had sand in the ridges of the seats, from trips to the beach, and I like the people and places associated with it - like post-beach trips to Stewart’s Drive In when I was a kid.
  • Favorite vehicle…if money were no object? The Tesla Roadster. Failing that, I really like Sebrings, or any rag-top. And I read last year that a Chinese company bought the old MG name AND the plans, and may revive the marque…
  • Vanity Plates? Tempting, but there are better ways to spend cash.
  • Must have car gadget? Air conditioning. Seriously. Also, a sound system, preferably one with an mp3 aux jack.
  • Favorite driving tunes? A mix of rock’n’roll oldies, or any Barenaked Ladies CD.
  • Favorite Hollywood movie car? The movie version of the Bumble Bee Transformer, or the current incarnation of the Bat-Mobile.
